Learn Spanish phrases you can start using tomorrow
If you learn Spanish phrases before traveling abroad, it will make your experience more rich than it would be otherwise. If you have never learned any Spanish phrases before, it’s time to learn some of this wonderful language now!
One of the first Spanish phrases you should learn is how to introduce yourself.
- You can do this by saying ‘Yo me llamo …’ (My name is …).
- You will be a polite guest if you always says ‘gracias’ (thanks) and ‘de nada’ (you are welcome).
- Also, use the phrase ‘mucho gusto’ (nice to meet you) each time you are introduced.
- Don’t forget to say ‘con permiso’ (by your leave) each time you are leaving a reunion.
When you’re trying to learn to speak Spanish fluently, there will be many times when you slip up and feel like giving up, but you really shouldn’t. Just try to learn some of these Spanish phrases we are giving you and learn them fluently.
Because you are learning Spanish saying the phrase ‘¿cómo se dice?’ (how do you say?) will help you learn a few Spanish phrases each day. Don’t be afraid of saying ‘no entiendo’ (I don’t understand) each time your Spanish speaker is speaking too fast.

- ‘buenos días’ (good morning)
- ‘buenas tardes’ (good afternoon)

- You can use the phrase ‘lo siento’ (I’m sorry) or
- ‘qué verguenza’ (what a shame).
Here are some more Spanish phrases you should know:
- If you want to pass through the crowd, you can say ‘disculpe’ (excuse me).
- Maybe someone invited you try some regional food, if you want to learn more, use the phrase ‘¿qué es esto?’ (what is that?).
Some Spainsh phrases you can learn dealing with emergencies:
- ‘estoy perdido’ (I’m lost)
- ‘por favor, llame a un médico’ (please, call a doctor)
- ‘por favor, llame a la policía’ (please, call the police).
Or if you want to learn a Spanish phrase that will have you speaking like a native; then you should use these idioms: ¡a caballo regalado no le mires el diente! (To a given horse don’t look its teeth), más terco que una mula (more stubborn than a mule).
Those are some of the most basic and important Spanish phrases you should learn. If you get those down, you should be able to speak enough Spanish to get by!
